Sixth Grade
Math - Lesson 43. Dividing decimals by whole numbers. Remember, the rule here is: DEAL WITH DECIMALS FIRST. Move the decimal point UP into the answer. Then, divide like normal. If you have a remainder, remember, you do NOT write it as a mixed fraction or as a remainder. Instead, add an extra zero to the end of the number inside the box and drop it down. Keep dividing from here.
Spelling - Unit 14 is due tomorrow! Since I didn't get your books back to you until Friday, you do NOT have to do Vocabulary Connections this week. Please remember to study for the test!
Literature - No homework! We read from The Golden Goblet today.
Seventh Grade
Literature - We read from Treasure Island today. No homework!
Math - Practice Test 7. Please finish the practice test tomorrow!
Grammar - No homework.
Spelling - Pretest today - remember, if you keep your pretest with the take home study sheet, have the study sheet signed by a parent, and bring it back on Friday, you will get 10 bonus points in Spelling! Since there are not that many grades in Spelling, this will really help.
Eighth Grade
This week, Mrs. Lassiter and I are working together with the 8th graders on a heat transfer unit called, "Save The Penguins". Today, the class learned that aluminum foil is NOT a good way to keep a soda pop cold! You should be wrapping those pops up in a WOOL SOCK. Weird, huh?
Tomorrow, you will learn more about radiation, convection, and conduction as we test out some materials.
See you tomorrow!
