We spent the day reviewing for the test over the political and physical geography of South America. Be sure to study tonight!

PRE-ALGEBRA

The class took a test today. Several didn't finish so they will be given time in class to finish the test tomorrow. No homework tonight!

SIXTH GRADE

I hope everyone enjoyed an unexpected day off! Unfortunately, we will have to make it up later. The homework from Monday was the worksheet with multiplying mixed numbers. Turn the mixed numbers into improper fractions. Then cancel wherever you can. Multiply across and then change any answers that are improper fractions into mixed numbers.

SEVENTH GRADE MATH

The test that was supposed to be today, will be tomorrow now instead. Be sure you are going over the test review!

GEOGRAPHY

Yesterday, we reviewed for the physical Geography test. I told you that it would be tomorrow, but since we didn't have school today, I am postponing the test until Thursday. Be sure you are studying the location of each of the South American countries and their capitals.

PRE-ALGEBRA

You were supposed to have a test today. The test will now be tomorrow. Be sure you are going over the review!

ALGEBRA I

The test that was supposed to be today, will now be tomorrow. Be sure to do any odd problems from this chapter (except for word problems) and then check your answers in the back of the book.

See you all tomorrow!

SIXTH GRADE

Today's assignment is page 263 #2-20. You are multiplying fractions. (I'm not sure if the page number is correct, but that's close....just find the page on multiplying fractions! Here is a video with some examples:
SEVENTH GRADE MATH

Practice with combining like terms. Most everyone finished in class.

GEOGRAPHY

The class presented their quipus. Then we read about Simon Bolivar and the independence of the countries of Gran Colombia. You need to do the questions A, B, C, D, & E on the pages about whether Gran Colombia should remain united or Venezuela should become independent of Gran Colombia.

PRE-ALGEBRA

We began reviewing for the Linear Equations test. The test will be early next week...probably on Tuesday. You do NOT have to do any more of the review tonight, but please let me know if there is anything that we did today in class that you would like more help with.

ALGEBRA I

We began reviewing for the unit test. I want to first make sure everyone understands the concepts taught this unit (I know there are some difficult ones) and then I will decide when the test will be. Most likely, it will be on Tuesday. No homework!

See you tomorrow,

Mrs. Swickey

SIXTH GRADE

The assignment is more practice with subtracting mixed numbers. You are doing page 235 #4-20. (I think that's the right page...it's subtracting mixed numbers, so if that isn't it, look in the table of contents at the front of the book!)

SEVENTH GRADE MATH

More practice with distributive property worksheet.

GEOGRAPHY

The class made their quipus today. If they didn't finish, they need to complete them tonight for homework.

PRE-ALGEBRA

The homework is a worksheet writing the equations of a line from a graph. First, find two points on the line (find where the line crosses two different coordinate points on the grid). Then find the slope using those two points. Then, find the y-intercept. Where does the line cross the y-axis? Use slope intercept form of an equation: y = mx + b. Plug in the slope you found from the two points for m and the y-intercept for b. That's it!

ALGEBRA I

More practice with dividing polynomials. Worksheet.

See you tomorrow!

SIXTH GRADE

Thursday's homework was the practice worksheet with subtracting fractions. You are only doing #1-9. The rest is extra credit!

SEVENTH GRADE MATH

The homework from Thursday is the ten equations from the board.

GEOGRAPHY

On Thursday, we read about colonization in South America. The homework is the handout on El Dorado. The activity is for extra credit.

PRE-ALGEBRA

Writing the equation of a line in slope intercept form when given a point and the slope of the line. Here is a video with a few examples:

ALGEBRA I

Dividing Polynomials. page 350 #14-32 evens. Here is a video with some examples.
