Pre-Algebra

Here are two videos. One is from Thursday, but could help with Friday's assignment and the second one, I made tonight with more examples like the problems on the bottom of the page from Friday's paper.

SIXTH GRADE

I'm giving the class a second day to finish the assignment from yesterday. If they already finished, there is no homework tonight!

SEVENTH GRADE MATH

The class was given time to work on missing assignments during class today. There is no new homework!

GEOGRAPHY

The class took notes over ancient civilizations in North America today. There is a COUNTRY QUIZ tomorrow!

PRE-ALGEBRA

Some students struggled with the fraction equations from yesterday. I'm giving those a second day to finish. Here is a video with a few examples:

ALGEBRA I

Many people struggled on yesterday's assignment so we spent the day going over how to solve some of those. There is no new homework.

See you tomorrow!

SIXTH GRADE

Today, you are working mean, median, mode, and range problems and finding the effect of an outlier on these pieces of information. I made a video for you.
SEVENTH GRADE MATH

We began discussing changing fractions into decimals and vice versa. There is no homework tonight. We will continue tomorrow.

GEOGRAPHY

We finished watching the Lewis and Clark video today. Then the homework is an Atlas activity over North America - Lesson 2.

PRE-ALGEBRA

Today's assignment was going to be a little challenging - equations with fractions. There were several people absent today and several more who struggled with yesterday's homework. I didn't want those gone to miss the tough lesson from today, so I postponed it until tomorrow. There is no homework tonight!

ALGEBRA I

Solving Linear Inequality Applications. Here is a video:

SIXTH GRADE

Today's assignment is the worksheet on mean, median, mode, and range.

mean - this is the average. ADD all the numbers and then divide the sum by the number of numbers.

median - this is the middle number. Put them in order from least to greatest. If there is an odd number of numbers, just find the middle one. If there is an even number of numbers, add the two middle numbers together and divide by two.

mode - this is the number that occurs most often. If no number occurs more than the others, there is no mode.

range - this is the difference between the largest and smallest. Take the largest number and subtract the smallest.

SEVENTH GRADE MATH

No class due to Mass.

GEOGRAPHY

The class took their first country quiz today! Then we watched more of the Lewis and Clark video. There's just a little bit left and they will finish it tomorrow.

PRE-ALGEBRA

Worksheet with more practice on multiplying and dividing mixed numbers and fractions with signs.

ALGEBRA I

Modeling Linear Equations - problems 6-12. (most everyone finished in class.)

See you tomorrow!

SIXTH GRADE

Today's assignment is page 63, #5-13: Finding the mean or average. Remember, to find the average, you have to add up all your numbers and divide the sum by the number of numbers you added.

SEVENTH GRADE MATH

The class finished a test today. No homework!

GEOGRAPHY

The class finished notes today and we went over the different pieces of information for the country quizzes. The things you need to know are:

Country
Capital
Leader of the Government (first and last name AND title)
Language(s)
Religion(s)
Population
Major Body of Water
Major Landform
Climate
Natural Resources (2)

PRE-ALGEBRA

Today's homework is more practice with adding fractions and mixed numbers that are signed. Here is a video with a few examples:
ALGEBRA I

You are doing #3-6 on the handout. Here is a video with a two examples:

SIXTH GRADE

The class will be taking a performance assessment tomorrow - a kind of test that checks their ability to apply the information they just learned. The class is doing really well with graphing so I expect them to do great tomorrow!

SEVENTH GRADE MATH

There is a test over operations with fractions and decimals and changing numbers into and out of scientific notation.

GEOGRAPHY

There is no homework tonight. We began our North America unit yesterday.

PRE-ALGEBRA

Today's homework is the worksheet for adding and subtracting mixed numbers. This is review, but we are getting ready to operate with signed fractions - which can be a bit challenging.

Here is a video if you still need help from yesterday's homework:
Here is a video with adding and subtracting mixed numbers - for today's homework:
ALGEBRA I

More practice with graphing linear equations.

See you tomorrow!
