SIXTH GRADE

The class learned about integers today. Remember, an is any  positive whole number and its opposite, plus zero. That means - no fractions and no decimals. Absolute value is how far away a number is from zero on the number line. Absolute value is ALWAYS POSITIVE. The opposite of a number is whatever you'd add to it to get zero. (opposites can be negative) The opposite of 3 is -3. The opposite of -4 is 4. The absolute value of 3 is 3. The absolute value of -3 is 3. It's 127 in the book - it's the first lesson on Integers.

SEVENTH GRADE MATH

We had a short class today so we did not finish the lesson. There is no homework! We will finish tomorrow.

GEOGRAPHY

The class took a country quiz and then we reviewed for the Africa Test. The test is Friday. We will not have class tomorrow because of yearbook signing. (There might be about 10 minutes at the end.) So it is important to study at home! Please let me know if you have any questions.

PRE-ALGEBRA

Identifying triangles and quadrilaterals.

ALGEBRA I

We practiced completing the square today on the SmartBoard. Each student took a turn and worked through a problem. Then, they had fun making up problems for me to solve! No homework.

See you tomorrow.
