Sixth Grade

Today's homework is assignment number 3. Finding a discount. The examples are on the page. Just follow the directions and you will do just fine!

Seventh Grade

Math - Assignment #1. Probability, Chance, and Odds. If you have any trouble with something specific, please email me. I am more than happy to help!

Geography - Assignment #1. Western Europe map. Color the countries with crayon or colored pencil and label each country. Remember not to write the name in the country if it is too small, but to put a number and write it at the side or on the back.

Eighth Grade

Pre-Algebra: Assignment #4. Compound inequalities. The examples are on the homework.

Algebra I: Regular binomials with radicals. The examples or on the page! Using the box will probably be easier. Email me with any questions!

See you tomorrow!

Homework #2 - Today is a continuation of yesterday. Remember, if you are given the price per pound and the number of pounds to buy, you will just multiply the price by the number of pounds to find out how much it's going to cost. If you are given the price per pound and the number of kilograms to buy though, you first need to change the number of kilograms to number of pounds. Since each kilogram has 2.2 pounds, you would just multiply the number of kilograms times 2.2. For example, if you had 4 kilograms of broccoli and you wanted to know how many pounds that weighed, you would multiply 4 times 2.2 and get 8.8 pounds. Then, if you know the price per pound, you'd multiply 8.8 times that to get your answer. Remember to move your decimal the correct number of places and round to the nearest cent, like we did yesterday!

Seventh Grade

Math - Finish the Deep Sea Challenger questions if you didn't finish in class.

Geography - Chapter 15, Section 3. Read the section and write 10 things down that you think should be on the test from this section.

Eighth Grade

Pre-Algebra: Homework #2 - Solving inequalities. Here are a few examples. Remember, if you have to multiply or divide both sides by a negative number, that flips the sign. If you have to add or subtract to get the variable alone, that never flips the sign. Be sure to pay attention to the signs when adding and subtracting. Here are a few examples. You can click on the picture to make it bigger. Send me an email if you still need help.

Algebra I: Homework #2 - Adding and multiplying radicals. See the examples on your paper. If you are confused, send me an email! Tell me what number you need help with.

See you tomorrow!

Monday, March 26th

Hello! We had a great first day back after Spring Break. My Mimio Pad is not working right now, so I'm going semi-low tech tonight for your examples. You can click the pictures to make them bigger to read. I hope they are still useful!

Sixth Grade

Assignment #1 - Kitchen Math - Buying Produce. In this assignment the students are practicing multiplying and dividing decimal numbers, rounding decimals, and conversions. There are a few tricky bits with the conversions.

If you are given the cost per pound and the number of pounds wanted, it's just multiplication. Remember to move the decimal over the number of times a decimal is in the answer and round if you have to. See example 1 in the picture below.

If you are given the cost per kilogram and the number of pounds wanted, you first have to find the cost per pound. Since there are 2.2 kg in a pound, you can divide the price by 2.2. Remember, if it doesn't divide evenly, and I don't think any of them do, you will have to divide to three places after the decimal and round to the nearest cent. See example 2 in the picture below.

Seventh Grade

Math - We played a probability game in class today that we will finish up tomorrow. No homework!

Geography - Chapter 15, Section 2. Do questions #1-6 of the section assessment. For #6, do a good job of writing the letter! Imagine being back in that time and seeing the changes happening.

Eighth Grade

Pre-Algebra - Homework #1. Naming and drawing inequalities. Everyone finished in class so I won't do any examples.

Algebra I - Homework #1. Radicals. Here are three examples for the different types of problems you will do. If you have any questions, just email me!

See you tomorrow!
