SIXTH GRADE

The class was on a field trip today! I also will not have them for class tomorrow because of the Christmas parties. I hope everyone has a terrific holiday and I'll see you in January.

SEVENTH GRADE

I used the math and Geography classes today to give the Geography test. There is no homework! The class worked on redesigning or modifying their igloos for their penguins. We will be testing their new igloos tomorrow!

Don't forget your presents for Secret Santa!

EIGHTH GRADE

Pre-Algebra: I went over the test with the students who struggled on it. There will be a makeup test tomorrow. No homework!

Algebra I: Solving systems of equations by substitution. I made a video with three more examples. (I'll post it below when it's done uploading.) Remember, I made a mistake on one of the examples on the paper I handed out in class. Please ignore that! I apologize for the confusion. You are solving all 10 on your homework. Be sure that each answer is an ordered pair. They will all be integers...so if you get a fraction, you made a mistake! Please let me know if you have trouble.

See you tomorrow!

SIXTH GRADE

You have a quiz tomorrow over all of the stuff we've done this unit so far! Please finish your quiz review and then watch the following two videos for the answers and explanations. The quiz review will be a completion grade, so be sure to bring it to class tomorrow!

SEVENTH GRADE

Math: We are continuing our Save the Penguins unit in math and science class. No homework!

Geography: There is a test over this unit on Thursday. We began reviewing today. Be sure to study your notes and we will finish reviewing tomorrow!

EIGHTH GRADE

Pre-Algebra: Graphing on a coordinate plane and naming quadrants. If you didn't finish at school, be sure to use your notes to finish at home.

Algebra I: Finish the assignment from yesterday. Remember, you are doing #1-6 ALL, and then #8-38 EVENS. I shortened the assignment so you do not have to go all the way to #48. Please follow directions and use the notes I copied for you to help solve these. Remember a solution to a system of equations will be one of the three things: an ordered pair, no solution, or infinitely many solutions. So, if you are asked to find the solution by graphing, graph the two equations on the same coordinate plane using slope-intercept form. Where point where they cross is the solution. If they don't cross, but are parallel, then the solution is "no solution". If you end up graphing the same exact line, then the solution is "infinitely many solutions".

Next, if you are asked to write whether the system is independent, dependent, or consistent, then remember these things:

A system with one ordered pair solution is INDEPENDENT.

A system that is parallel with no solution is INCONSISTENT.

A system that gives you two lines that are exactly the same are DEPENDENT.

That's it! If you have any questions, let me know.

See you kn about 45 minutes for the Advent play!

SIXTH GRADE

The assignment today is a worksheet practicing reducing fractions. Remember, on the first side, you are writing yes or no for whether or not the fraction is in simplest form. Write yes if it IS in simplest form. If the fraction can be reduced, write NO, because it isn't in simplest form. On the bottom, reduce all the fractions in the maze. Then, connect all the 1/4 fractions to complete the maze. On the back, reduce all the fractions around the rectangle. Then, use a rule to connect the dots of equal fractions. You will see 3 stars formed in the lines inside.

SEVENTH GRADE

We are working on Save the Penguins this week and today, we used our math and Geography time since the Advent play practice was during Science time. No homework!

EIGHTH GRADE

Pre-Algebra: We didn't have class today because of the play practice.

Algebra I: We learned how to solve a system of equations by graphing today. The class will work on the homework in class tomorrow, so there is no need to do it tonight.

See you tomorrow!

Mrs. Swickey

Thursday, December 13, 2012

SIXTH GRADE

Today you are adding and subtracting fractions with like denominators. Remember, add only the numerators and the denominators stay the same. Then, check to see if your answer is an improper fraction. If it is, change it into a mixed number. Then, check to see if your answer can be reduced! That's all there is to it.

SEVENTH GRADE

Math: Algebraic Expressions. See your notes for help in figuring these out, but let me know if you are stuck! Email or text....I'll always answer.

Geography: We discussed developing and developed countries again today.

EIGHTH GRADE

Pre-Algebra:

You have a test tomorrow over everything in your review! Be sure to go over the fraction equations and the percents. I found a previous video on how to solve two step equations with fractions. You will have equations like these so be sure you understand them. If you work some of the problems from the review, I will check your answers if you send them to me!

Algebra I: Linear Equation and Inequality Applications. It is difficult to do a video since each problem is a little different. I hope that all we discussed in class today will help you solve the rest of each problem. You should have the correct equations and what x and y means for each of them. With those pieces of information, you should be able to graph and answer the questions. If you get stuck, though, let me know! I am happy to help.

See you tomorrow!

Mrs. Swickey

Tuesday, December 11, 2012

SIXTH GRADE

The assignment today is to change mixed numbers to improper fractions and improper fractions to mixed or whole numbers. I made a video and it'll be uploaded shortly.

SEVENTH GRADE

Math: Today we played a math dice game that utilized order of operations and exponents. No homework.

Geography: Today, we looked at the graphs of socio-economic indicators that each student made last week to determine which countries were developed and which were still developing. There is no homework tonight!

EIGHTH GRADE

Pre-Algebra: We began reviewing today for the test, which will be Thursday or Friday.

Algebra I: We went over the test and the linear equations applications from Friday. Then I introduced linear inequality applications, but we will finish this tomorrow. There is no homework!

See you tomorrow,

Mrs. Swickey

Sunday, December 9, 2012

SIXTH GRADE

We worked on making fractions pieces on Friday. No homework!

SEVENTH GRADE

Math: The class took a test during the math and Geography time on Friday. (It was the short schedule because of House, so classes were only 25 minutes long.)

EIGHTH GRADE

Pre-Algebra: Percent problems. Please let me know if you have trouble! I am happy to help.

Algebra I: Linear word problems. I made a video with a few examples, but be sure to look over the examples on the handout as well. My examples may not exactly match the problems on your paper. Remember to think about what each part of the equation represents. If you write the equation in slope intercept form, the y is the whole thing...whether it's salary, total sales, etc. The slope is the thing that gets multiplied by # of sales, # of months, # of items, etc. The y-intercept is the thing that isn't going to be affected by the # of sales, months, items, etc.

The video will be below in a little while. It's almost 9 minutes, so it'll take awhile to upload!

See you tomorrow,

Mrs. Swickey

SIXTH GRADE

Relatively Prime and GCF/Simplifying Fractions Worksheet. Remember, you are doing all of the Relatively Prime side and #1-8 and #13-24 on the GCF side.

Two numbers are relatively prime to each other if their GCF is 1. So, since 8 and 15 only have a 1 in common, they are relatively prime, even though both numbers are composite by themselves. This means that if you had the fraction 8/15, it would be in simplest terms because the GCF is 1. So, when you are finding what numbers are relatively prime to another number, you look at see if the two numbers you are comparing have anything in common besides 1. If not, then they are relatively prime! Email me if you are still stuck.

SEVENTH GRADE

Math: Review exponents and roots. Let me know if you need help!

Geography: Make a graph of your socio-economic indicator. You will all be making a bar graph. The different countries will go across the bottom and you will color the bars whatever color is indicated on the right. For the y-axis, this will be different for each person. If you have a percent, then make the y-axis go up by percents....depending on how much space is between the percents. If you have an age or number of years, you might go up by 1's or 2's...again, depending on the range of your numbers. If your lowest is 12 and the highest is 75, then you'd probably need to go up by 10's. Please write me if you aren't sure what to do. Please do NOT wait until tomorrow to ask!

EIGHTH GRADE

Pre-Algebra: We didn't have time in class to do a new assignment. The class played a game and we went over yesterday's homework.

Algebra I: They took the test today! No homework.

See you tomorrow!

Mrs. Swickey

Tuesday, December 4, 2012

SIXTH GRADE

Today's assignment is simplifying fractions to lowest terms by dividing by the GCF. You need to do #2-48, evens. Here is a video!

SEVENTH GRADE

Math: You need to complete the order of operations page...do the ones that we didn't do during "I have...what is?" in class. You should have crossed these off this afternoon.

Geography: We took notes in class today. The students have an assignment to complete with a parent. Parents, just answer the questions as best you can. This will help give the students an idea of developing countries. We will be doing an in depth lesson on this tomorrow using one of my favorite sites for country information: CIA World Factbook.

EIGHTH GRADE

Pre-Algebra: More decimal equations. I made a video with one example.

Algebra I: Finish the last few problems on your review. I will post a video here a little later with the answers!

See you tomorrow,

Mrs. Swickey

Monday, December 3, 2012

SIXTH GRADE

The assignment for today is to find the greatest common factor (GCF) of two numbers. On the worksheet, you will list all the factors for both numbers. Then list the factors they have in common. Last, name the greatest common factor. The biggest factor they have in common. Use your factors list and it'll go a lot faster. On the back, you need to use prime factorization and a Venn diagram to find the GCF of the three pairs of numbers I wrote on the board. I made a video to show you how to do this again, as well as how to find the GCF using lists. It'll be below when it's ready!

SEVENTH GRADE

Math: More complex order of operations. Do the back side of the worksheet from yesterday. I made a video for you and it will be below when it is ready!

Geography: Those who finished their posters on time, presented them to the class. Then the class took notes over regional conflicts.

EIGHTH GRADE

Pre-Algebra: Solving decimal two-step equations. I made a video to show you how to move the decimal on each term and solve from there.

Algebra I: We began our review of linear equations and inequalities. Be sure to do #24-32 for tomorrow.

See you then!

Mrs. Swickey

SIXTH GRADE

Today we worked on prime factorization using factor trees. The class is making a "Forest of Factor Trees" on a small poster in class. There is no homework. They will finish these in class tomorrow!

SEVENTH GRADE

Math: Simplifying Exponential Expressions and Order of Operations. I made a video for you!

Geography: We finished talking about conflicts and the class took notes on types of regions. I also assigned each student a country. They will be researching the regions of this country over the next few days. There is no homework.

EIGHTH GRADE

Pre-Algebra: I made two videos today because I didn't get the video done for last night. The first one below is for the two-step equations assignment from Monday. The second one is for the adding and subtracting decimals assignment from today, Tuesday.

On the end of the second video, I was cut off before I could finish the equation. I was about to multiply both sides by 5/11. When you multiply -93/20 by 5/11, you can cancel the 5 and make it a 1 and the 20 and make it a 4. So you would multiply across and get -93/44 as the answer!

Algebra I: You are doing evens only on both sides. The only exception is you don't have to do the two fraction inequalities on the first side. I believe these are numbers 26 & 28. You need to do all the fraction ones on the second side....there you are eliminating the fractions by multiplying by the reciprocal. Remember, reciprocal just means to flip over the fraction. Don't multiply by the OPPOSITE reciprocal. That won't work. So, if the fraction is -3/4, you would multiply by -4/3.

I made these two videos for Pre-Algebra when they did inequalities in their last unit. So, instead of making new videos, I am just embedding these two for you! Remember, the only time things are any different when you solve inequalities, is when you have to multiply or divide BOTH sides by a negative number. When you do that, don't forget to flip the inequality sign!

See you tomorrow!

Mrs. Swickey

Monday, November 26, 2012

Attention all middle school parents: I sent home a summary of assignments for the 2nd quarter thus far. It includes any missing assignments. I have stapled the worksheets that each student is missing to the list. Be sure to ask your child for their  list(s).

SIXTH GRADE
Today, we finally finished up the factors list! Actually, we still have 5 more to go, but we will finish those tomorrow. We took as much time as we did on this because of how useful this list will be! The students will be using these for awhile in this unit. There is no homework!
SEVENTH GRADE
Math: Today, the class learned about exponents and roots. Each page includes good directions. If you get stuck, read through the directions again, but please send me an email or text if you are stuck.

See you tomorrow!

Mrs. Swickey

Tuesday, November 13, 2012

SIXTH GRADE

Today you are finding the factors of each number from #1-100. Each student was told 3-4 numbers from the list to do. (So, you do not have to do all of them....just the few I told you to do.) Tomorrow, we will write them all down and have a very handy list!

SEVENTH GRADE

Math: Percent of a number word problems. You are checking to see if each one is correct. If it isn't, you need to cut that problem out and put it  in the blender!

Geography: The class took a performance assessment today. No homework!

EIGHTH GRADE

Pre-Algebra: Multiplying signed fractions and mixed numbers.

Algebra I: Writing the equations of lines with various information. Remember, for each one, you need the slope and y-intercept. How you find each piece of info depends on what info you were given to start with. I don't have time for a video today, but I will try to help if you email or text me.

See you tomorrow!

Mrs. Swickey

Thursday, November 8, 2012

SIXTH GRADE

The class started a test today and will continue with part 2 tomorrow!

SEVENTH GRADE

Math: Finding the percent of a number. Today's problems are mixed between the three types we've already done. I will have a video for you as soon as it's ready!

Geography: No homework, but please remember to bring a poster board tomorrow so we can make posters about the ways humans impact the environment.

EIGHTH GRADE

Pre-Algebra: No homework!

Algebra I: Parallel and perpendicular lines. There will be two videos. The first is for identifying parallel and perpendicular lines which is the top half of your assignment.

Wednesday, November 7, 2012

SIXTH GRADE

You have the first part of a test tomorrow over graphing! The second part will be on Friday. The most important thing to remember on the test, is to check for any thing you know would be wrong with a graph. A line graph is used to display data that changes over TIME. A bar graph is used to display data that is in categories. A histogram is used to display the frequency of numerical data.

SEVENTH GRADE

Math: Finding the missing number in a percent problem. You are doing the odds - all columns.

Geography: You are completing the table on the handout that is on the side about gorillas.

EIGHTH GRADE

Pre-Algebra: Dividing Mixed Numbers with signs. I made a video for you!

Algebra I: There is no homework. We began discussing parallel and perpendicular lines and will finish tomorrow. If you have make up work or need to redo assignments, take advantage of not having homework to get those done!

See you tomorrow,

Mrs. Swickey

Monday, November 5, 2012

Sixth Grade

Histograms - Remember, you are doing #1 (use a separate piece of paper), on #2-5, choose TWO to make a frequency table and histogram with....so you do not have to do all four of these, just two of them. Then do #6-10. You do not have to do #11. I made a video with an example of how to make the histograms. It will be here when it finishes uploading!

Seventh Grade

Math: Changing repeating decimals to fractions and vice versa. I made a video for how to do this. If you need a second example, let me know!

Geography: We began discussing the project on human impacts on the environment. They will be working in the computer lab to create a newsletter and will get some class time to work on a poster.

Eighth Grade

Sixth Grade

Today you are making a double line graph using the class data that I gave you in class. Remember to leave equal spaces between the sets of bars. For each class, there will be two bars right next to each other. Don't forget the labels on the axes and a title!

Seventh Grade

Math: We played a math game to change fractions to decimals to percents, etc. There are some tricky ones so I made a video. The homework is to do the first column on each page that I gave you. Here is the video on how to change the percents that have fractions with them into decimals:

Geography: Study for the test! I postponed it until tomorrow because we did not review natural resources. Be sure you go over all of those as well!

Eighth Grade

Pre-Algebra: You are doing the evens only on the worksheet - but you don't have to do the word problems. That means you have only 7 problems to do. I know they are a bit difficult, so I made you a video (it's almost 10 minutes long) with several examples. Just take your time and WRITE if you are having trouble! You can write me as late as 10:30 or so. I will still be checking my email and texts.

Algebra I: Today you are finding slope from a graph and then graphing a line with a given slope and a given point. I made a video for you too!

Let me know if you are stuck!

See you tomorrow,

Mrs. Swickey

Sixth grade, you need to complete the double line graph assignment. If you don't understand how to do one of the problems, please write and ask! I would love to help or answer a quick question.

Seventh grade, you have no homework.

I didn't meet with Pre-Algebra today because of the extra time spent with the visiting priests.

Algebra I, I made a video to help you with your homework. Here it is:

I'll see you all tomorrow!

Mrs. Swickey

Tuesday, October 23, 2012

SIXTH GRADE
The assignment for today is to draw a double line graph using the information from the table I gave you. There are two questions to answer. Be sure to read the instructions! Let me know if you have any questions.

SEVENTH GRADE
Math: The assignment for today is to convert decimals to percents, percents to decimals, fractions to percents, and percents to fractions. If you need help remembering how, let me know!

Geography: We spent time having a class discussion about population patterns and taking notes. There is no homework!

EIGHTH GRADE
Pre-Algebra: The assignment today is to compare and order rational numbers. Remember, if you have all negative numbers but need to order least to greatest, then you have to reverse the order you expect. For example, -0.53, -0.35, -0.82, & -0.28 would be ordered as follows:

-0.82, -0.53, -0.35, -0.28

The smallest number is the furthest to the left on the number line.

You are doing #1-32. Remember on the back to order least to greatest and not greatest to least (which is what the worksheet says).

Algebra I: Cartesian Coordinate System, Domain, Range, and Functions. Remember, domain is all the x values of a given set and range is all the y values. A set of coordinate points is a function if for every x value, there is only 1 y value. If an x value is listed more than once, check to see if there are two different y's. If so, it is NOT a function. For example:

(-2, -3), (5, -3), (7, -2), (4, -8)

This is a function because the x values are all different. It doesn't matter that two different x's have the same y.

The set below is NOT a function:

(5, -3), (8, -2), (5, 4), (7, -4)

This is because 5 occurs twice as the x value, but in the first point, the y value is -3 and the second the y value is 4.

Be sure to write if you have any questions!

See you tomorrow,

Mrs. Swickey

Thursday, October 18, 2012

First, I just want to say thank you to all the birthday wishes today! The middle school students at St. Charles are THE BEST! And thanks to the seventh graders for all the Hot Tamales! Yummy. For R.S. in 8th grade, thanks for the avocados. It's an Algebra I inside joke.

There is no homework for any of my classes this weekend. Enjoy the three day weekend and I'll see everyone on Monday!

Mrs. Swickey

SIXTH GRADE

Today, we finished going over the Decimal Review for the test. There are just a few problems left on your paper. Finish those up and go over all of the problems on the review. Also, go back and watch all of the videos on decimals and conversions. It will be a really good review to hear and watch all of the examples. Of course, if you are confused or want to ask me a question, please write!
SEVENTH GRADE
Math: Today you are working on a decimals review page for adding, subtracting, and multiplying. If you have trouble remembering how to do any of these, please look at the videos for 6th grade. There are several on decimals that will help you do this assignment!

Geography: We continued working on our Google Earth activity. Please answer all of the #6 questions (a-d) and #7.
EIGHTH GRADE

Pre-Algebra: You have a big test tomorrow over equations and inequalities. Please study hard tonight. Go over any homework, watch all of the videos with equations and inequalities, and study your notes. There is only one shot on this test. I will not be giving a retake if you don't do well, so please come prepared.

Algebra I: There is a quiz tomorrow over equations. I am making two videos for you. The first one is uploading now and has #13-24 on it. I am getting ready to make the second video and will start uploading it as soon as I'm finished. The first video is 10 minutes, so it'll probably take a little while for it to load. I will imbed it below when it is finished....or if you are impatient, you can watch my swickey678 You Tube channel to see when it appears there. If you do not understand one of the equations, let me know! I will be happy to explain them.

See you tomorrow!

Mrs. Swickey

SIXTH GRADE
Today, we began reviewing for the Decimals test. The test will be on Wednesday so we will take one more day to review. At home, be sure to finish through #18 if you haven't already. It is a good idea to go back and review any videos I've done for 6th grade in the last month.

SEVENTH GRADE
Math: Today, we talked about how to identify the different types of rational numbers and what the difference is between a terminating and repeating decimal. I made a video with more explanation and it will be below as soon as it finishes uploading! The assignment is #1-25. You do not have to do the back.

Geography: We worked in the Computer Lab today using a website called GEteach.com. The website uses Google Earth to teach various concepts. We had some technical difficulties as several computers would freeze, but we were able to use one computer to compare two Earths next to each other - one with a population density map and the other with a topographical map. It was interesting to see the connection between population and terrain, such as mountains or nearness to water. We will finish the activity in class tomorrow! No homework.

EIGHTH GRADE

Pre-Algebra: We began reviewing for the Equations and Inequalities Test today. The test will be on Wednesday and we will take one more day to review. Be sure to watch the videos for this unit and work through some of the problems. It would be useful to write the equation or inequality down, pause the video and work it out, and then restart the video to see if you got it right. There will be no chance to make up this test of you don't do well, so please study!

Algebra I: Today's assignment is to figure out if the given solution is a solution to the equation. You can plug in the solution for the variable anywhere it is in the equation and see if you get a true statement. (such as 12=12) If you do, then it is a solution, but if you get, say, -3 = 5, then that is a false statement and the given solution is not a solution to the equation. The other way to determine if it's a solution, is to solve the equation on your own and see if your solution matches the solution given. Let me know if you need help!

See you tomorrow,

Mrs. Swickey

Tuesday, October 9, 2012

SIXTH GRADE

Your assignment is more metric conversions and choosing the correct measurement. Remember to use the stair step to help you convert. If you lost yours or can't find it, here is a picture:

SEVENTH GRADE

Math: Multiplying fractions and mixed numbers. Here is a video to remind you of the process! (It'll be posted as soon as it finishes uploading.)

Geography: Your assignment is the Atlas Activity page for Land Use and Resources.

EIGHTH GRADE

Pre-Algebra: We spent the time in class working through the Fast Math problems. Many students were struggling with the process of multiplication and division inequalities. There is no homework.

Algebra I: We spent the time in class working on the Fast Math problems and reviewing how to do the steps of the long equations. There is no homework!

See you tomorrow,

Mrs. Swickey

SIXTH GRADE

We spent the class time today discussing the class rules, what each of them meant, and how the class is breaking the rules. We also discussed procedures again and practiced on those. The class has had a bit of trouble following directions so we are trying to start over and have a more productive class period. It may take a few days to get to where the class can get back to real classwork. All we accomplished today, besides the long discussion about rules and procedures, is the Fast Math. There is no homework.

SEVENTH GRADE

Math: Today, half the class spent the time going over the mistakes they made on the last 2 lessons. The other half worked on a fraction enrichment sheet. It was quite challenging, I think! I could hear them working very hard together to find the answers.

Geography: We finished up the notes on weather phenomena. There is no homework!

The class met my mother today. She is going to be our homeroom mom and she stopped by to meet the class!

EIGHTH GRADE

Pre-Algebra: Solving multiplication and division inequalities. A video will be below soon.

Algebra I: Continue solving equations - including eliminating the parentheses and combining like terms. A video will be below soon.

See you tomorrow!

SIXTH GRADE

On Friday, we played a game involving estimation of metric measures. There is no homework.

SEVENTH GRADE

Math: More adding fractions. This is the page with the geometric design to color in on the right side.

Geography: The only thing you need to do at home is to finish copying the different climate zones from the textbook.

EIGHTH GRADE

Pre-Algebra: Solving Inequalities. I made a video and it'll be ready in just a bit.

Algebra I: The Algebra class helped us get ready for EMSA to come collect the stuffed animals. Thanks for your help! There is no homework.

See you tomorrow!

SIXTH GRADE

Your assignment is the metric length conversions. I made a video for you! It hasn't finished uploading yet, so I'll embed it as soon as it's finished.

SEVENTH GRADE

Math: Your assignment is adding and subtracting fractions and mixed numbers. Remember, you only have to do columns A & B on both sides. Find common denominators and add or subtract. If your answer is an improper fraction, you have to change it into a proper fraction. If you can't subtract because the top number is smaller than the bottom, borrow from the whole number and add the denominator to the numerator to make a new numerator. (You are doing this to the TOP fraction.) Send me an email if you are stuck!

Geography: We finished discussing the weather phenomena reports today and started taking notes on them. You will need to copy the definitions of the climate regions from  your textbook but you have until Monday to do this.

EIGHTH GRADE

Pre-Algebra: Your assignment is #1-10 on the worksheet where  you are eliminating the parentheses. I made a video for you!

Algebra I: Your assignment is #9-36 on the handout. Remember, do not write on the handout. You will be using that for future assignments. Here is a video! Be sure to let me know if you are stuck.

See you tomorrow!

SIXTH GRADE

Today, the class turned in the assignment from last Wednesday. Several students told me they had trouble, and didn't turn it in. Be sure to look at yesterday's post for a video! There is no homework today. We started talking about the metric system.

SEVENTH GRADE
Math: We didn't have math class today because we spent this time talking about some issues with bullying and unkind treatment going on in the class. I am trying to keep the problems from getting out of control as right now, things aren't terrible, but they could quickly become so. If you have any questions about this, please let me know.
Geography: The students presented their weather phenomena today. There are two more to present and they will get a chance on Thursday. We will be testing in the afternoon tomorrow.

EIGHTH GRADE

I didn't see either 8th grade class today because of testing. If you have questions about yesterday's homework, please see yesterday's blog post. There are videos for both classes.

See you tomorrow!

SIXTH GRADE

We didn't have class today because of ITBS testing, but we will have class tomorrow! Your homework from last Wednesday is due tomorrow. I finally made a video with some examples of dividing and rounding the answer. It will take a little bit to upload, but I'll post it here when it is finished!

SEVENTH GRADE
Math: We didn't have math class today because of ITBS testing, but your assignment from last Wednesday is due tomorrow. It was factoring using a factor tree. If you have questions, let me know! I think everyone understood, but please email me if you are stuck.

Geography: We didn't have Geography class either because of testing, but we will have class tomorrow. Testing is in the morning tomorrow, so we will have our afternoon classes. Your assignment from last Wednesday is due tomorrow. It is to write a short report about your weather phenomena. Be sure to include what it is, how it occurs, and any severity levels - like tornadoes can be less dangerous or more dangerous. Be sure to explain that.

EIGHTH GRADE

Pre-Algebra: Your assignment today was using distributive property. I think everyone found it fairly easy. I will make a video in a few minutes and post it here when it is ready. Also, I will post a video for last Wednesday's assignment - the longer equations - and post it here. Both assignments will be due this Wednesday. We won't have class tomorrow because we will be testing in the morning.

This video is for the multi-step equations that we did last Wednesday.

I'll put the video for today's work below. It hasn't finished uploading!

Algebra I: We began our unit on equations today. The assignment is to do the entire worksheet of addition/subtraction equations and multiplication/division equations. Here are two videos I made for Pre-Algebra for the same exact equations.

This video has addition, subtraction, and multiplication equations. Ignore the fact that I'm talking to Pre-Algebra. You are doing the exact same thing!

This video has the division equations.

See you all tomorrow!
